Garage Door Spring Replacement
Garage door spring replacement is required on two different occasions. It is required when the springs are broken as in this case they cannot be fixed. The broken torsion or extension springs must be removed, and new ones must be installed. If no spring conversion is demanded, the current broken springs must be measured properly in terms of their inside diameter, length and wire size and must be chosen also in regard to their end parts.
Be Safe and Refrain From Replacing the Springs Yourself
Another occasion that springs will need replacement is when the garage door is replaced. If the characteristics of the new door have substantial differences with the previous one, the springs must be replaced as well. This is critical for one's safety and good performance of the door when the new panel is much heavier than the original one. Springs are always selected in accordance with the panel's weight so that they will have enough power to lower and lift it. On any occasion, garage door spring replacement is risky and demands great attention. It is not recommended as a DIY task.
